Cultural Mission in France issued the first issue of "Maqalid" comprehensive cultural magazine.  Maqalid covers studies, research and articles in various frontiers of knowledge and also present translations.  In addition, it carried writings on contemporary notions , academic topics and literary trends in the Western world in general and in France in particular.

His Excellency, Dr Khalid bin Mohammad Al Anqari, Minister of Higher Education wished the magazine to be a manifestation of scientific directions for the spirit of the fruitful dialogue between different cultures , responding to the call by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.  It is hoped for Maqalid to be of strategic depth in the development of visionary projects for the relations between peoples toward reducing contingencies.

Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in France Dr. Mohammad bin Ismael Al Al Shaykh supervised the magazine, and the Saudi Cultural Attaché in France, Dr. Abdullah bin Ali Al Khatib is the Editor in Chief of the magazine .  The first issue contained thirteen sections and more than twenty scientific and literary articles.
