The Center of Research and Strategic Studies is considered the cornerstone of strategic planning for the development of higher education institutions in Saudi Arabia. In this center, many missions are done like drawing the frameworks for developing and increasing the number of universities as well as restructuring of university specializations and advancing the harmonization of higher education outputs to national needs, including the requirements of the labor market.
Experts from various specializations work in the center to develop the various plans and scenarios for the establishment of new institutions of higher education and restructuring the existing ones. The center achieves great success, including its vision to streamline the task of higher education and the reduction of the waste in the educational process. the center also provides recommendation and advice for decision makers in the ministry of higher education concerning the ministry programs to expand higher education institutions capacity to accommodate the outputs of public education.
The center is closely connected and has tight cooperation relations with a number of authorities related to strategic planning such as the Ministry of Economy and Planning, Central Department Of Statistics & Information and the Ministry of Education. These relations enable the center to implement the studies to the fullest extent on the basis of solid information and top significant statistics.
