Department of Operation and Maintenance
Duties :
A. Traffic Section:
It receives the daily requests for cars, for official missions, from departments of Ministry; distributes them to the drivers; follows up to ensure completion of the tasks; prepares cars for the reception of honored guests of the Ministry, and visitors from universities; and prepares coupons for gas filling and necessary tools for car maintenance
B. Maintenance Section:
It receives the daily requests for maintenance; distributes them to the electrical, plumbing, carpentry, blacksmith, and other technicians; follows up with the technicians and motivates them for the completion of the tasks; provides necessary tools for the maintenance of the Ministry buildings and furniture; handles the various jobs of the maintenance section, most of which are in the field; supervises the contractors for cleaning, operation and maintenance of air-conditioning, fire alarms, elevators; as well as other tasks that it may be charged with
C. Workshop Section:
It receives the cars; inspects them to define the problem and the spare parts required to fix it; fixes and maintains Ministry cars; prepares reports; prepares vouchers/records for giving the cars to the drivers and receiving them back; ensures they are parked at the end of the day; and urges drivers to take care of the cars upon leaving the garage, monitoring the water and oil levels, tires air pressure, etc
D. Security & Safety Unit:
It handles the security guards for the buildings and properties of the Ministry; prepares patrol schedules, distributed to the security and safety stall; follows up with them; organize cars entering and leaving Ministry premises; control fire extinguishing systems; and tackles other issues related to security and safety
