Duties :
1- Supervising the administrative departments affiliated to it and coordination among them in a manner that guarantees the integration among their activities to achieve the maximum benefit from the available possibilities.
2- Supervising the application of attested rules and regulations in the field of the administration's work and the administrative departments it supervises.
3- Coordination with the concerned administrative departments concerning preparing and executing plans and the annual estimated budget in the field of computer and information technology as well as following up its execution after attesting them.
4- Preparing studies concerned with the expansion in the computer services, information technology in the Ministry and educational Attaches.
5- Studying the development of systems, programs, information databases and internal and external communication networks.
6- Supervising the devices, networks and information databases in the Ministry and educational Attaches.
7- Following up securing the communication systems and networks to save an integrated and developed computer network in the Ministry in coordination with the concerned bodies.
8- Training the necessary labor forces to manage and maintain devices, the network and the information databases.
9- Preparing the necessary technical specifications and feasibility studies in order to secure the accounts in the Ministry and educational Attaches.
10- Preparing instructions, procedures and standards related to purchasing the computers and information security, and making sure that they are applied in the Sectors and administrative departments in the Ministry.
11- Identifying the needs of the Ministry to the computers, programs and systems as well as following up saving them according to attested instructions, procedures and standards.
12- Checking the readymade programs and discs in order to make sure that they don’t have viruses.
13- Preparing and developing the applied programs and systems related to saving and retrieval of the information related to the Ministry and Cultural Attaches within using the computer, inputting and updating data related to the work of the Ministry.
14- Maintenance and operation of systems, programs and information databases according to dates of their maintenance.
15- Developing the local and external communication network as well as saving a wide communication network to relate the Ministry to the Cultural Attaches and coordination with the concerned bodies concerning exchanging information and increasing the number of beneficiaries of the service according to the determined plans.
16- Relating the administrative departments to the Ministry within a developed information network and removing difficulties that hinder the flow of information.
17- Saving the technical support in the field of computer to all sectors and administrative departments at the Ministry as well as solving all problems that they may face.
18- Training employees of the Ministry to use its programs.
19- Preparing the site of the Ministry on the Internet, updating and maintaining it periodically in coordination with the concerned administrative units at the Ministry.
20- Participating in producing informational and educational programs related to the computer in coordination with the Public Relations and Information Administration.
21- Coordination with the General Administration of the Planning and Statistics concerning setting up and developing information and statistics databases that include all what is important to the Ministry and is related to the Higher Education.
22- Coordination with the General Administration of Planning and Statistics concerning relating the information and statistics database of the Ministry to Public and National educational institutions as well as Cultural Attaches and information sources in the Kingdom.
23- Coordination with the administrative departments related to the General Administration of Planning and Statistics concerning data and statistics collection and saving documents and archives.
24- Coordination with the administrative departments concerned with the computer and information technology in educational Attaches concerning the works of the Ministry.
25- Coordination with the National Center of Electronic learning, Remote Learning and Higher Education concerning the information technology.
26- Studying and following up new events such as developments in the field of computer devices and information technology recommending using the most suitable ones.
27- Submitting consultations and ideas as well as the support to all sectors and administrative departments in the Ministry and affiliated bodies in issues related to the activities of computer and information technology.
28- Submitting the necessary suggestions to modify or develop the administrative rules, regulations, instructions, decisions and procedures related to the Ministry activity according to the need of the work and new events.
29- Supervising the process of identifying the needs of the administration and administrative departments to labor forces, securing and training them.
30- Supervising the process of identifying the needs of the administration and administrative departments related to the devices, equipments, tools, securing and developing them.
31- Supervising collection, classification and saving data and necessary information for the work course in the administration and updating systems of saving and retrieval.
32- Preparing the periodical reports that indicate the achievements of the administration and submitting the necessary suggestions to develop them, raising them to the Ministry Deputy for Planning and Information in order to decide about them.
33- Performing any task assigned by the general administration in the field of specialization.
