Equivalency Decision Statement

  • According to the level of certificates or the case of equivalency, a decision statement of equivalency can take any of the three following forms :

    1. Statement of equivalence for certificates and cases where rules of the committee are met
    2. Statement of equivalence with specific [notes] reservations (with reasoning) for the following cases :
      1. certificates or cases that adhere to minimum requirements of the university certificates equivalency committee
      2. some requirements are not met but there are additional academic justifications of international recognition
In such cases the committee consider such certificates inadequate for related academic work, or have reservations with regard to academic institution level, grade (satisfactory performance in bachelor certificate), duration of study, program content, nature of the specialization or any reservation noticeable by the committee executive rules. The statement herein is of equivalency in principle but includes also the nature of notes and whether these notes are strong or marginal. It is up to the organization considering employment of the certificate holder to deal with the certificate according to the merit of the applicant to employment
    3. Statement of that certificate is unequal to Saudi certificates (with reasoning) for certificates or cases of poor standards that does not adhere to equivalency criteria and does not go along with established academic conventions, or where information about meeting aforementioned requirements is insufficient

  • The university certificate equivalency committee shall not make a decision of conditional equivalence
  • The university certificate equivalency committee may equalize non-Saudi certificates to lower Saudi certificates in accordance with the national education ladder (or the national qualification framework once approved by concerned organizations) if there is convincing justifications to the committee.
